While the word “tabernacle” may not appear in everyday vocabulary, the name carries a sacred significance in Scripture and in our church. Externally, the tabernacle was simply a mobile worship tent that the ancient Israelites hauled around during their wilderness journey to the Promised Land. Such luggage was indispensable not for its own sake, but because of what was revealed to Israel inside the tabernacle—namely, the glorious presence of the triune God.
Both then and now, when God’s people gather in God’s presence, extraordinary things take place. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is,” says the Apostle Paul, “there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). At Tabernacle Baptist Church, we seek opportunities to experience this freedom in Christ, the One whose life, death, and resurrection has made our freedom from sin and death possible. We are continually reminded to live out this freedom through uplifting worship and warm Christian fellowship. But as you can see from our website, we do not believe this freedom is limited to our building. By joining together for ongoing ministries carried out in Jesus’ name, our desire is that all people would come to know lasting freedom in God’s presence.
As you browse this website, I believe you’ll be encouraged by the work God is doing in and through our church family. If you’re looking for a Christian community to join, I hope you’ll consider visiting Tabernacle in person. We look forward to seeing you.
Grace and Peace,
